RAID INFORMATION

Do you both have and actively use (please note the bold):

Deadly Boss Mods or BigWigs or Deus Vox? I use DBM
OMEN? Yes, I have it installed and I do like being told when my threat reaches a certain level; I can back off, or make sure I'm topped with hots.

A stable internet connection? What speed? Yes. 12 MB... although it is Comcrap.

Ventrilo? Yes

A working mic?
Yes

Previous raid experience (including pre TBC and pre WotLK)? Any WWS reports?

Not for Etheryelle; there might be some out there for Hopeth the paladin who used to be named Etheryelle, then Nottacow, and finally, Hopeth.

Pre-BC, I raided all content including: ZG, Onyxia, MC, BWL, and original Naxx with either Tattered Virtue, or with my friends in Macabre on my HOLY PALLY. Tattered Virtue disbanded.

In BC, I was traveling for my job extensively and raising my teenage son (I said I was older than dirt). My play time in TBC was helping him level his rogue and, eventually, his DK. I leveled a belf holy pally on Korgath with old EQ guildmates. Then when the EQ guildmates left Korgath for Warhammer, and I came back to Manno, started running with Orcbane on his weekly Naxx runs and fell in love with raiding again. By this time I was guilded in Ops and listed as a Wrath raider for the guild. However, I decided sometime in there to go back to school to get a different degree. I'm currently trying to be accepted into med school and live my life as a physician. The game is my escape. So, I took down my raider status on my paladin and quit playing 2 weeks post - Wrath release.

I was CWAL Ops for almost 2 years. Last spring when my school schedule lightened up, I leveled the druid I'm applying with here. Etheryelle hit 80 the day of 3.3 release. In greens/blues/ and one purple Wispcloak I entered into H FoS, H PoS, and H HoR. And lived to tell about it. Thankfully, with guildmates such as Winter(xxxx) and Elanee, Melandru, Raven (xxxx), et al I learned what to do or not. I LOVE playing a resto druid. My pally is now a transmute alt. I think I took her into VoA 25 a few weeks ago and laughed. Anyway, I app'd to Ops as a guildie to raid. I posted in the healer forum that I wanted to raid on the druid, that my time was free on raid nights and school would not be a hindrance save for midterm and finals. There was another NON-guildie application on the app forum. That app, with a better GS, was taken on trial runs. I was left behind.

That guild, in my opinion, is one of the best on server. They were my home for 2 years; made me laugh, made me cry with laughter; but I want to raid and it did not appear that I would be given an opportunity to raid OR to sit on bench and sub in. I quit Ops.

That first week as a new 80 in 3.3 content suxxored. My GS is now 5370. As you might recall, I hit 80 and logged off for a month. Then I came back, busted butt to get geared and experience, then app'd here. Then quit game for two months and am back again. I've no doubt I will have my gear up to speed quickly, use the 5-mans to dust the rust off, and be a solid raider.

To date, on Etheryelle I've raided everything in Wrath BUT Ulduar...

Naxx 10/25, Maly 10/25, Ony 10/25, OS 10/25, ToC 10/25, started ToGC 10/25, and ICC 10/25. This was all done through PUGs so i do not have parses. The ToGC failed to complete when people would rage quit instead of trying to figure out to help each other do better and finish the raids. I tend to stay until RL calls it. Progression, to me, means learning from my mistakes, or helping others learn from theirs and moving on.

Because I did not have 3.2 content under my belt on pally (too busy leveling the druid), I read and continue to read: Elitist Jerks, resto druid forums, and watch youtube vids for raids. I try to figure out where my placement should be, use the addons to make sure my distance is appropriate, and that I'm aware of incoming shards, purple/smoldering holes, and LARGE, WHITE POUNDING Yeti.

Explain your raid spec as best as you can.

Currently, I am 18/0/53 Resto. I spec'd this way to get the benefits of: increase healing, crit, increased healing time of hots, increase of spell casting time of heals, and haste from boomie spec. On the resto tree, I gave up the limited functionality of naturalist because I don't cast healing touch very often, if at all, preferring instead to use a macro that takes trinket, nature's switfness coupled with nourish. In addition, as I got more comfortable, I monitored my own meters to see what I was doing compared to others and also, to see which spells were working best for my play style. I don't much care what others do, or not do, but I like to see what I can do better.

Give a list of the consumables, including numbers, that you think you should bring for a full 4 hour progression-based raid.

5 Flasks of Frost Wyrm, 40 Firecracker Salmon, and 30 fish feast. I like to help the raids as well, not just myself. My strong preference on raids is to use fish feast.

What role do you see yourself filling, generally speaking? Feel free to elaborate on the obvious.

I love to heal. I've played a healer through Evercrack, and WoW as a paladin. Have found, however, I really love playing the resto druid. I would like to become a core raider but am more than willing to be a bench player subbing in when regular raiders are unable to make a raid night.

If asked, I could try and learn boomkin but that is not my first pick. I'm leveling a shammy to be my ranged DPS.

Last, I try to bring pots, flasks, IV clicky/healing/mana sticks, and fish feast to raids to help others - I generally carry flasks that others use. I know the IV sticks are not generally used but I find them to be helpful in getting everyone up to full health/mana post-wipe and back to raiding content.

Please list your availability for each day of the week. We are an EAST COAST SERVER (EST) so please indicate your availability in that timezone. Please note that we raid 4 nights a week, typically from 7:30 - 11:30, sometimes going a little later. Making an average of 3 raids a week (75% attendance) is expected.

Sun: 6:30 - midnight
Mon: 6:30 - midnight
Tue: 6:30 - midnight
Wed: 6:30 - midnight
Thu: 6:30 - midnight
Fri: 8:00 - midnight
Sat: available but am going to try and leave one night just for being with my son, Shaydgar/Straiin as he tries to become top end again as well

Typically we do not take official breaks during raids. Instead, we encourage people to take time during trash to use the bathroom, get drinks or snacks, etc. Make your own breaks. That being said, do you have regular prior commitments during the 7:30 - 11:30 timeframe that may require you to take an extended break (Examples: Homework, Family Time, Dinner)?

My son is now 18 :o and the dogs are generally pretty taken care of by evening time. When I know there is a scheduled raid my RL is taken care of to minimize interruptions during raids.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING RAIDING

Regardless of Blizzard's paradigm when it comes to "Bring the person, not the class", there will always be times when we will need an alternate class or spec to fill a raid spot. Occasionally, we will ask people to sit and/or switch specs for an encounter or even a night if we feel that we need to stack in our favor.

You are expected to show up on time and at the raid entrance to the best of your ability fully stocked, repaired, and read up on the fights we'll be attempting for the night. Not being ready in any of these departments may result in lower invite priority, lower loot priority, and a general disdain from your fellow guildies. We're a tightly knit guild: trust me, you don't want that.

We handle drops with a Loot Council. Loot is given out based on attendance, performance, attitude, and aptitude. As a new recruit, understand that you are lower on the list to receive loot and may not see drops sent your way until your trial period is over. What you earn is relative to what you put in for all of the above criteria.

Lastly, but certainly not least, we expect people to be reasonable in terms of behavior on vent and in game. This goes for anything as simple as being courteous to fellow guildies and keeping vent clear when needed to the more subtle aspects of being able to fess up to your own mistakes, actively taking criticism and taking responsibility for your own actions. We do not enforce age restrictions for our members, but you are expected to act and behave like an adult regardless.

***Please note that this subsection does NOT contain questions, but rather statements pertaining to our raid protocol. Feel free to respond however, if you have anything you'd like to comment on regarding these statements.***

I have never been a loot whore which is why my gear generally falls behind at times. I think its the mom and physician in me that looks out for others above myself. One of my favorite lines in any movie is from Star Trek, Wrath of Khan: “The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few” ... ahem... yes, I'm a Star Trek fan from days long gone by.

MORE ABOUT YOU

What prompted you to apply to Midnight Train?

I am a reapp. Have remained unguilded since I left Cwal Ops.

Before my prior application, I asked several in-game friends of mine where I should look. I was pointed to MT. In speaking with an officer, it seemed like a more mature guild with set raid times, set philosophy. I also asked if there were open resto druid raiding spots and told that there were already two amazing resto dru's in guild but that other apps are considered.

What guilds have you been in and what were your reasons for leaving?

(A) Tattered Virtue - guild disbanded
(A) Cwal Ops - already noted above - great guild; great people
(A) Morphogenesis (less than 10 days) - I would like a more settled guild; they are still going through growing pains

Do you have anyone in your previous guild(s) who can vouch for you?

Raven(black, gold, et al) might say kind things about me.
Honeybee/Axylrose
Jasmine/Behemothe - GMs Tattered Virtue and now, Eternal Genesis where Hopeth resides
Winter(devil, curse, et al) might say kind things - I LOVE him completely /bow
Dejil - original GM from ... umm... /scratches head, /taps toe ... Knights of Ambrosia and then Vae Victus?!

Do you have anyone in Midnight Train who can vouch for you?

Not really. There are a couple of people from MT that I got to know during my first application.

Do you own the account that holds the character you wish to raid with?

Yes.

Is there anyone else who plays the account other than yourself? (If so, understand that actions taken by the character represent YOU regardless of who is playing at the time, and will reflect as such in regards to said behavior.)

No. AND I will never, ever, ever, ever again click on some stupid linky thing in /2. Lesson learned...

We're a guild built on open communications. We realize that when it's raid time, things can be said that are harsh and critical, but it's only to better the player and the guild as a whole, and not a direct attack. Are you able to take criticism with an open mind? If not, are you willing to learn?

I will always accept criticism, helpful comments but calling me names, or trash talk, I find unacceptable. Just tell me what to do differently, and I'll do my darndest to do it. I try to avoid, at all times; shards, fire, purple holes, hail, sparks, fire bombs, darts, daggers, trampling Yeti. For instance, I was told by one resto druid that I highly respect (Winter) to use rejuvenation instead of regrowth. Another resto druid told me the reverse (Morpho druid) and to try and fit in, since they were reviewing specs/raid heals, I changed up my healing. Honestly, it does work better but I do blow through mana. I LOVE hearing new ideas, and read EJ at times when patches come out to get their input.

I AGREE TO THE PREVIOUS STATEMENTS and, I agree to read and follow the guild rules and obey /bow to officers.
